SOP for Dozer Operations
- Before starting the operator should check for any tags like “B/D” “Out of order” or “Under repair”. If any such tag is visible, the operator should not start.
- Before operating the operator should personally get up to speed and test the following details:-
- Brake horn and AVA (Audio visual alarm) are working properly.
- Head light, back light and dash board lights are working properly.
- Machine is mechanically sound and in efficient working order.
- Fire extinguisher is available.
3.Dozer should be duly operated by authorized dozer operator.
4. Glass of dozer operator cabin should be kept properly clean for good visibility during operation.
5. Operator should personally check the area around dozer before starting operation.
6. Operator of dozer shall not allow any person to ride on dozer during operation.
7. The operator of the dozer should operate his machine only on stable ground.
8. The dozer should not operate on steeply sloping ground or in a place where the dozer is likely to be stocked.
9. The dozer should be operated in the OB dump yard in such a manner that there is always a berm of adequate height and width.
10. While operating in the dump yard, the dozer should be operated from the side of the operator of the running dumper/tipper, so that the dumper/tipper operator can see the position of the dozer while dumping.
11. He should be very careful while climbing on and alighting from the dozer.
12. He should not leave the operator cabin without sufficient reason during duty and should alight from the dozer as little as possible.
13. The dozer should follow the instructions of the supervisors.
14. The dozer should not be driven over, pierced or go close to the overhead line of power cables.
15. The dozer operator should immediately stop his machine if there is any abnormal sound coming from the machine or any leakage during operation.
16. Before stopping the dozer, the operator should park the dozer in the designated parking space and rest the dozer blade on the ground.
