Career in Mining Engineering - options and opportunities

  • Introduction

  • Mining Engineering is also referred as mineral engineering which is branch of engineering that is related to the study of application, techniques to extract and process valuable minerals from natural surroundings. Its process involves extraction of non-metallic, metal ores of all kinds and solid fuels and energy sources such as coal and nuclear material. There are various phases in mining processes starting from exploration, checking the feasibility, development, production, procession and marketing to final land restoration and rehabilitation. The main role of mining engineers is to apply knowledge of scientific theory, engineering techniques and improved technology to locate natural reserves of minerals, petroleum and other useful natural resources and then to extract these resources.

Performance and growth of industry in India

With the rapid increase in the population, now we are in more need of natural resources in order to fulfill our day to day increasing desires. In the coming years, India requires more mining engineers in order to face scarcity of natural resources.
