Bench parameters and their elements

Image
Bench parameters and their elements Now, let’s learn the terminology associated with the pits. Using this figure, we can define key elements.   Bench floor: Horizontal surface of the bench Bench face: Vertical surface of the bench Face angle (α): The average angle the face makes with the horizontal Bench height (H): Vertical distance between upper and lower bench surface Toe: Interior vertex formed by the intersection of the bench face and bench floor Crest: Exterior vertex formed by the intersection of the bench floor and bench face Bench width: The distance between the crest and the toe measured along the upper surface Bank width: The horizontal projection of the bench face   There are two types of benches in each open pit mine: working benches and safety (catch) benches.   Working Benches Working benches are where unit operations (drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling) are performed. Working benches are wider than safety benches t...

The Mine’s Emergency Notification Plan

Image
The Mine’s Emergency Notification Plan :- Federal regulations require each underground mine to have and post the mine’s emergency notification plan outlining the procedures to follow in notifying the mine rescue teams when there is an emergency that requires their services (30 CFR Section 49.19). The mine’s notification plan should also include any other people or services that will be needed at the mine site such as police officers, supply clerks, telephone operators, medical personnel, ambulances and other emergency vehicles. NOTE: Show the team a copy of their mine’s emergency notification plan, or you can refer to the sample mine emergency notification plan. Surface Arrangements:- Surface arrangements cover a wide range of activities requiring the coordinated efforts of many people, including such tasks as establishing a Command Center; briefing all mine rescue teams on vital information, conditions, and up-to-date plans; and obtaining and distributing nec...

Artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning in advanced robotics

Artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning in advanced robotics   Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) are all important technologies in the field of robotics. The term artificial intelligence (AI) describes a machine's capacity to carry out operations that ordinarily require human intellect, such as speech recognition, understanding of natural language, and decision-making. Robots can detect and interact with their surroundings, make judgments, and carry out difficult tasks with the aid of AI. A branch of AI known as "machine learning" uses algorithms to give robots the ability to learn from data and get better over time. It's possible to program robots to carry out certain jobs in robotics, such as grasping, object identification, and path planning. Artificial neural networks are used in deep learning, a type of machine learning (ML), to help computers learn from massive volumes of data. DL has been particu...
