- Hindi Proficiency: Proof of having studied Hindi as a subject up to 10th Standard / SSLC / Matriculation (or equivalent proof).
- Nationality: Indian citizen.
- Certificates: All DGMS certificates and First Aid must be valid at application/document verification time.

- Junior Overman (S1): UR/EWS: 30 yrs | OBC-NCL: 33 yrs | SC/ST: 35 yrs
- Mining Sirdar (SG1): UR/EWS: 30 yrs | OBC-NCL: 33 yrs | SC: 35 yrs | ST: 35 yrs (relaxations for Ex-SM, PwD, etc. as per Govt rules).
- Reservation & Relaxations: As per Central Govt norms (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD/Ex-SM).
Junior Overman (Trainee) – S1 Grade
- Educational Qualification: Diploma in Mining Engineering / Mining (or equivalent approved by Central Govt).
- Professional: Valid Overman’s Certificate of Competency from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulations 2017 (or equivalent entitling to work as Overman per CMR 2017).
- Other: Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate in Diploma (UR/OBC-NCL/EWS) | 50% (SC/ST against reserved posts).
Mining Sirdar (Selection Grade-I) – SG1 Grade
- Option 1 (Non-Mining background): Diploma or Degree in ANY subject (other than Mining Engineering) + Valid Mining Sirdar’s Certificate of Competency from DGMS + Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Option 2 (Mining background): Diploma in Mining Engineering / Mining + Valid Overman’s Certificate of Competency from DGMS + Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Minimum Marks: Not strictly specified (focus on valid DGMS certs), but must meet overall eligibility.
